Independent · Every spec sourced · No dealer network

Know what size water softener you need, and what it should cost.

We compare 37 whole-home softeners and filters on the four numbers that decide the purchase: rated capacity, service flow, certification status and today's price. Every figure is read off the manufacturer's own page, dated, and linked. Sizing is arithmetic, and we show it, so you can check any quote against it.

§ 04 · How the numbers get here

Three rules, and you can audit all of them.

Specs come from the manufacturer's live page. Not from other review sites, and not from memory. Each one is linked and dated, so when a brand renames a model or moves a page, the link breaks and we re-source it rather than leave a stale number up.

A certification is a claim until it has a listing. Every claim stays marked claimed until it appears in NSF's public database, including for the brands that pay us.

Sizing is arithmetic, not a badge. The formula, its constants and their sources sit on the calculator page, so you can run our recommendation and a plumber's quote through the same math.
